About Russco Inc.

Founded in 1952 by Russell Pichette as Russell & Co., the original focus was on building and maintaining drive-in theaters. The customers included most of the area's major players, including EM Loews, General Cinemas, and Patriot Cinemas. Sixty years later, we still have ties with some of our early customers.

As outdoor theaters decline in number, we followed the industry to indoor cinema, becoming specialists in splitting older, large capacity theaters into two, three and four plex theaters, the precursor of today's multiplexes. Russco has a history of responding to changes in the construction environment, always keeping options open and reacting to new opportunities. While performing work for many of the mill buildings in Southern New England in the 1980's, we were asked to build a retail store for Anderson Little, a clothing line manufacturer and retailer. Russel and his son, Russ, who had joined the company a couple of years earlier, gladly accepted the offer and broke into the retail construction business.

Using a conservative and common sense approach 1 store turned into 30-40 stores per year. With this new found success in retail construction, the company updated its name to Russco Inc.

Russel's younger son, Matt, joined Russco in 1987. Matt went through a comprehensive training program, learning the business in the field and on the job. Soon Russ ran the office and Matt ran the jobs. This combination gave Russco the ability to control schedules, costs, quality and delivery on jobs that cover a wide geographic area. It's a partnership that continues today.

When F.W. Woolworth dissolved the Anderson-Little Chain in 1992, it was again time for Russco to again change its focus. While devising a new marketing strategy to target new retail clients, Russco returned to its roots of doing theater maintenance work and building office space and retail projects for local developers.

Russco's excellent reputation quickly brought new opportunities. In 1994 Payless ShoeSource became a client. In 1995 Toys “R” Us and foot locker joined the liss of retail clients. Growth continued with Taco Bell, Radio Shack, Olympia Sport, J Crew and Wilson's Leather putting their confidence in Russco.

Since 1998, we have averaged over 150 retail store projects per year throughout the country.

Recent Clients include Abercrombie & Fitch, Sephora and Lululemon.

With over 60 years of solid performance behind us, Russco is positioned to achieve greater success in the future. The stringent requirements for increased quality of construction, on time delivery and unequalled customer service have been met and actually exceeded.

Russco is dedicated to performance in an industry that demands it at every step of the construction process. We wouldn't have it any other way.

What Our Clients Say

I wanted to take a minute to recognize and thank Lu and Charlie for the outstanding job they did on PV 6260. It was a pleasure and relief working with them and having the confidence that what they communicated was reality. The communication from Lu and execution from Charlie is to be commended and I am looking forward to our next project.
